Okay, honest here, I’ve written a lot. Over 20 books. Depending on how you count novellas, it’s a lot more than that. For more than 2 years, closer to 3, I wrote around 1500 words a day. That’s over a million words. Continue reading
Microfiction: Bad Superpowers
So, you all know the gimmick, yeah? A superpower but with a horrible, awful downside? Cool, cool. Then step right up and spin the wheel! You all want superpowers, right? That’s what everyone wants, right? Continue reading
Microfiction: Chili
The room was on fire. The chair he had been sitting in was melted from an errant drop of the stuff. His shirt had a stain that was slowly growing into a hole. Continue reading
Announcing: Reading Away The Hours by Brandon Scott
I published another book!
I’m now the author of two books!
I’m excited to have another one of my stories out for the world to see. I’ve been editing it off and on for like a year now and finally got the push to finish it. I originally wrote it as a horror novel that a kid could read and enjoy, but it ended up growing into something a lot more disturbing, so now it’s maybe PG13.
If you’re interested, the entire first chapter is below along with a link to the Amazon page. I don’t usually ask this, but, if you could share it around or post it to your social media, I’d really appreciate it. Continue reading
Stuff You Need When You Move
I’ve moved a lot. My family has moved a lot. Not necessarily from one state to another, but we’ve hopped around cities, and towns, and even in the same town. I’m not used to living in the same house for very long and I’ve gotten a lot of practice at packing up fast and doing it efficiently. Continue reading
Microfiction: If It Pleases Him
He knew what he wanted, and thus it was. Walking along the street, the street changed for him. The place was clean, quiet—the world clattered no more. The sounds of the annoying variety had been utterly ceased. Bread smelled extremely sweet if he so wanted. And every store was a bakery that made bread, should it please him. Continue reading
You Need Only Look
If you’re a writer in need of some story ideas, or a new creative that is interested in coming up with an idea for your first creation, or even someone experiencing some kind of block—though I’m not one to believe in writer’s block—then the advice I give is simple, the way forward is not complicated.
Look. Continue reading
Microfiction: That Special Drink
After a moment, after dropping down deep, the wizard Calcif emerged from it with his head swimming. He shook his head from side to side, letting his hair whip around in sharp motions. He rubbed at his eyes; the light hurt them. Continue reading
My New YouTube Project
I’ve been watching Youtube for a very long time. And I don’t mean that as how one might say “I watch Netflix”—this is not a hobby or a downtime thing. When I am doing something like cleaning, cooking, laundry, I have it playing in the background—I have a constant stream when I am doing something that doesn’t need my full attention.
It’s at the point that, on a chore day, or a day where I need to cook a shit-ton, I look at a 4-hour video as something that won’t last me even the length of that day. Continue reading
Microfiction: Talking To A Diety
“When I saw you, the first time, it disgusted me.”
A great thing for a god to say to you.
“But then, well, I saw the point to your meager species.” Continue reading
Busy Is Better
Look, I like being able to just chill, too, but, trust me when I tell you this, and it may go against a lot of the thinking people seem to have: but being busy, having a lot to do…is a good thing.
I recently, like within the last week or two, tried to double my projects; I drastically increased the number of items on my daily checklist, and, against all the usual “logic” on the matter, want to know what happened? Continue reading
Microfiction: Eat
“What a delicious meal we have made, full of things and places. A bevy of reality spread forth on our plate, salivating those who can process, stomach, digest the unfathomable. Continue reading
Cooking New Things
Recent events have me cooking for about five people—and it’s been an adventure it creating quantity, and in seeing just how many dishes need cleaning at any given time. But it has given me an excuse to go wild with trying new recipes. Continue reading
Forget Failure
Don’t regret failures, what purpose does lingering serve? Living means success outweighs the failures. Being alive means that fact. If failure was most action’s result, we’d be dead.
And the world is still standing.
So: failures are not the end.
Hope is a beginning. Continue reading
News: Christmas Break
Hey everyone. Sorry if the articles have been a little erratic lately. I’ve been going through two separate house moves now, and just wrapped up a very busy holiday. It was pretty much not possible for me to do a Christmas Collection, either. I’m planning on getting my shit together a lot more soon (since I’m now fully moved into my new location) and putting out longer articles. Continue reading
