Microfiction: Private Time

It was a secret. No one could know what he did in his own room when no one was watching. He’d sit there at his computer screen, glance around and behind him.

And only when he was sure that he was truly alone, would he eye that can of soda. Peer at it.

Then, with a flick of his wrist and a bit of concentrated thought, it would float over to his hand and he’d take a sip of it. Then it would hover back to where it had been, not a single drop of the liquid inside spilled.

And he would get back to gaming, occasionally making foods or drinks float over to him.

He lived the ultimate fantasy: being lazy with telekinesis.

“Just Another Chosen One is a blisteringly paced, action-soaked debut from author Brandon Scott, sure to appeal to those who’ve gotten tired of reading the same old stories about the child of prophecy destined to save the world.”
