Poem: Headbutt

If it seems unsolvable,

You could always just bang,

Your head,

Against the problem,

Until something occurs,

To you—

Eventually.

It’s not so hard,

Really,

To come up with a plan,

If you give it enough time—

Enough thought,

Enough mopey,

Tinkering.

When there’s no solution,

But solving,

When it’s only up or down,

You’ll figure out something,

An idea might just come around—

And bite you with its power—

And take you for a spin.

There’s a way to win—

You know.

You just must find a place,

A real place,

Where you can finally—

Begin.

And then,

Once you do.

Once it’s rolling along.

In your heart,

Finally,

You might hear some joyous song.

Want to read something longer by me? How about a whole novel!

“Just Another Chosen One is a blisteringly paced, action-soaked debut from author Brandon Scott, sure to appeal to those who’ve gotten tired of reading the same old stories about the child of prophecy destined to save the world.”
