This one red,
And this one not,
One can see into—
The world we never knew,
The world where things are bloody raw,
And courage screws up in the face of the maw,
And no one knows the sound that thrums—
It’s all over now—it’s all done.
We cannot say what pains us now—
What cuts us deep,
And collects from hell,
But with a red eye,
In our sockets,
With daylight shined—
In only pockets,
On gristly visions,
Our red eye sits,
We will finally,
Maybe,
Learn something—
Before it all degrades our entire breath of—
Mental wits.
