In an experiment,
I am trying,
This poem is being written,
While I am doing something else,
Unrelated,
And that’s not easy,
Switching back and forth,
Between topics,
To see if my mind can,
Even take it.
For context,
A video,
Is playing in my ear,
And on my screen a game,
But also this poem is being written,
And I stopped the video because—
It felt like I was going insane.
The human mind,
Has some trouble,
Going along,
Making this work,
Thinking clearly,
This is not something I recommend,
Because you cannot depend,
On your brain not shorting out—
As you try to puzzle out,
Where your hands even are going,
At this point,
At any point,
And then you look back,
And the word count is high enough,
And we keep on going,
And we keep on thinking.
There’s no point in the multitask.
So don’t even ask.
