Poem: Rapid

One finger on the pulse,

Another on the nerve,

No body parts here,

No,

But the pulse of the world served,

Multi-tasking across brainwaves,

Clicking motions paired with saves,

A digital frontier reflected in matter,

Gray and not-wet,

Thoughts without splatter,

A speed based,

Purely on caffeine,

A way forward,

To heights of productivity,

Yet unseen,

With screens aplenty,

And jumping eyes,

We make it all,

Move and fly,

We go to work,

You see,

And we keep on going,

For our family,

This is the way of the world now,

A click here,

A type there,

The world hums along,

And we simply vibrate with it.

Want to read something longer by me? How about a whole novel!

“Just Another Chosen One is a blisteringly paced, action-soaked debut from author Brandon Scott, sure to appeal to those who’ve gotten tired of reading the same old stories about the child of prophecy destined to save the world.”
