Poem: In Swoop

In one swoop,

They fell into the goo,

And now they have,

Superpowers.

They can fly,

And light fire.

See the future,

And inflate,

At a distance,

Tires.

What do they do,

With this gift?

They use it to take crime around town,

And sift,

Through the places,

And people,

And things un-liked,

And remove it from,

The concerned public’s sight.

They are the ones,

The people who deal with crime.

They are some heroes,

With monikers that…

Vaguely,

Rhyme.

For all evildoers,

And this includes you,

Be careful what you want,

Be careful what you do,

For,

Much like Santa Claus’ Krampus,

They may be coming for you.

Want to read something longer by me? How about a whole novel!

“Just Another Chosen One is a blisteringly paced, action-soaked debut from author Brandon Scott, sure to appeal to those who’ve gotten tired of reading the same old stories about the child of prophecy destined to save the world.”
