Poem: Chinese Food

So, here’s the sucky thing,

I should not have wheat or dairy.

Body doesn’t like it.

It’s been a thing my whole life—

And sometimes I ignore it.

Sometimes I eat what I want—

Because have you tried avoiding those foods in this country?

It’s nearly impossible.

But,

Here’s been the trick—

Like every time—

When I want junk food,

When I want something that’s not particularly good for me,

I go for Chinese food.

American Chinese food, I mean.

Inauthentic stuff, I’m sure.

But it’s mostly rice and meat and sauce,

And that’s not wheat or dairy.
