Poem: Zoom

No car,

Where you are?

Not there,

Obviously.

You are here.

And here you must stay,

Because the world’s so big.

And that’s not including the roadway.

Without wheels,

How do you deal?

Mooching,

Mostly.

Got to pay,

For the right,

To travel—

Never mind,

The awesome might,

Of expensive credit fucking delight,

That is loans,

Somewhere,

Whoever gets paid the interest rates,

Fucking moans,

With how much they have us all,

By the need,

For going fast,

But have to pay a toll,

To even make it past,

Like,

20 miles per hour—

And that’s only,

When,

If,

You can run like a fucking cheetah.

In short:

Fuck cars.

Want to read something longer by me? How about a whole novel!

“Just Another Chosen One is a blisteringly paced, action-soaked debut from author Brandon Scott, sure to appeal to those who’ve gotten tired of reading the same old stories about the child of prophecy destined to save the world.”
