Poem: Oops

Forgot to put,

The phone on the hook,

Or rather the charger,

So,

Now,

I stay,

Nearby,

So that the phone will be somewhat charged—

And it won’t die tomorrow,

Or today.

That’s an oops on me,

A mistake on my part,

A thing I should have done,

And forgetting it,

Made me jolt with a start.

But that’s the thing,

About minor mistakes,

Don’t you see,

They don’t usually matter,

You can fix them,

And make the outcome,

Something—

That goes over,

With others,

Happily.

We all make mistakes,

And that’s okay,

It’s how we handle them,

What we do after them,

That determines,

Where we see ourselves each,

And every,

Day.

Want to read something longer by me? How about a whole novel!

“Just Another Chosen One is a blisteringly paced, action-soaked debut from author Brandon Scott, sure to appeal to those who’ve gotten tired of reading the same old stories about the child of prophecy destined to save the world.”
