Phone: ringing.
Emails: a fuck-ton of them.
Text messages?
Oh god, they just keep on coming.
The social life,
You want it,
Of course you do,
I do too,
But, when all you ever hear,
Is a ringing, ringing, ringing,
In your ear—
To the sound of…
Someone else,
Asking for you to be there,
For them,
With them,
Then it can grow too much.
Love is there.
Happiness is there.
No one ever wants to be alone.
And you never will.
As I will never, either.
But, it is not unheard of—
Not odd,
For the world to ring,
Ring, ring, ring—
Sing,
For my attention.
Once more again,
And once more forever.
