Poem: Night Darkened

The time changed,

And with it the sun,

And the wind.

A day went by,

And colder, darker status.

Like it was waiting for the call.

On the streets at night,

The streetlights struggle,

To even sway the darkness,

And the wind decides to be cold,

With this bite that seems like it shouldn’t be.

We do not see snow,

Not a drip of rain,

We have only these cold nights as they are,

And the assurance it will pass.
