Here’s my job,

Get the idea,

I make fear happen,

Darkness and demons,

I scare people—

Because it makes them,

And they will deny it,

Happy to be afraid.

Haunted houses and scary movies—

They like the jump,

The jolt,

The adrenaline rush of being scared.

I give the people what they want,

Because what they really want is to be disturbed,

And I am very good at it,

I can make people shiver,

I can make them wilt backward.

The dark may bother you,

It may make you uncomfortable,

But it’s my craft,

My domain.

I paint with my words,

Is it my fault that I only use black and red?
