If you have a secret,
That you hold near,
And dear,
You would not like to know—
His name.
You answered a single question,
And there goes your privacy.
A hint, and away it flows,
Info.
In the twitch of the eye,
And the stance of the body,
With the gulp of air—
On a lip,
He peers into you.
There’s no point not telling him,
He’ll figure it out, anyway.
A loose end you can’t defend,
And the right question hits the wrong source,
And suddenly you tell me everything.
For, once you see,
The info-side of me,
You can’t—
Won’t—
See all I see.
For, what you don’t want to say—
You may not know it,
But you already told me.
