Poem: Fight Scenes

I write, right?

For combat is my story—

I feel you can tell a lot,

When your characters are in fury,

A blow here—

There another,

This is better described,

Be a choreographer in your head,

And make the paper shine.

They say that fight scenes are boring,

And that can be true,

But when it’s part of the plot,

And you make—

In the world—

Fight scenes a part of you,

Then it’s just a story,

Told with fists and death,

So fill your book with fight scenes,

As long of plot it’s not bereft.

Want to read something longer by me? How about a whole novel!

“Just Another Chosen One is a blisteringly paced, action-soaked debut from author Brandon Scott, sure to appeal to those who’ve gotten tired of reading the same old stories about the child of prophecy destined to save the world.”
